2024

GILBERT PRINT PLATE

Round 1 – v Seaford Head (away) on Monday 3rd June

Result: Win for Seaford Head 3-2

ROUND 2 – v Pyecombe (away) on Monday 20th May

Result: A win for Pyecombe 3-2.

Ham Manor played Pyecombe GC on Monday 20th May in the second round of the Cyril Blake County over 55s foursomes knockout. Playing away in this competition is always a hard ask and so it proved. In an extremely close fought match, Pyecombe came out on top by the closest of margins winning 3-2. The final match went to the 18th hole and the very last putt.

The team was very disappointed at losing, being current Champions, but looking on the bright side we can go forward and try to win the Gilbert Print plate. We have been drawn away again in the first round against Seaford Head GC on the 3rd June.

ROUND 1 – v Chichester (home) on Monday 22nd April

Result: Ham Manor won 4-1.

Ham Manor had a good win over Chichester in the first round of the 2024 Cyril Blake, with a 4&1 result. Playing at home is a definite advantage, but our opponents were no pushovers being the 2016 Champions and last year’s Plate winner. Three of the five matches went to the 18th, so the final score belied the closeness.

The next round is against Pyecombe away, which will be a very tough ask. We have an excellent squad this year and they will make every effort to retain their title, so hard won in 2023.
